Welcome to Leave No Trace Ireland’s e-newsletter!

Leave No Trace is about our personal responsibility for protecting the areas we use for recreation whether on land, underground or afloat. So the challenge for us all is to get out and practice Leave No Trace – don’t wait for others...just do it!

The Seven Principles of Leave No Trace
Dealing with Fires Workshop

Join us at the ‘Leave No Trace…Dealing with Fire’ workshop on Saturday 13th November at 10.30am at Tollymore National Outdoor Centre, Bryansford, Co. Down and see how we can all impact less!

The format of the day will start off with a range of presentations and discussion/debate sessions on the following topics: how land owners deal with fires on their land, how the Irish Sea Kayaking Association engage with their members on how to ‘leave no trace’ in relation to fires, how the scouts have moved away from ‘Burn, Bash and Bury’, the vulnerability of the uplands to fires and the introduction of the Safer Mournes Partnership – a partnership set up to tackle forest fires in the Mournes area.  After lunch there will be outdoor demonstrations on how to apply the Leave No Trace principles to fires.

Everyone welcome...If you are available to attend please contact Beverley at beverley@leavenotraceireland.org or on +44 (0) 28 9030 3938.
